New Beginnings

I am glad this day is about over. My legs are sore and I’m tired. After a couple weeks of scheduled downtime after Ironman Texas I began training regularly again last week. It is comforting to be back into the daily/weekly/monthly groove of swim/bike/run. I don’t like downtime very much. Aspects of it are refreshing, like not having to go to bed at an early time, or not having workouts looming overhead. On the flipside, however, I am a total creature of habitual existence. I enjoy conquering the daily tasks at hand. It is fulfilling for me and I find pleasure in completing the challenges in both work and triathlon as best I can on any given day. Today was one of those days when the realization that I was back into full training hit me. There’s no looking back now. My next “big” race is Kona. Plenty of time to get back to form. Until next time…

This verse holds a massive amount of truth for me right now.

1st Peter 5:6-7– So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.
